Andrew

Hi, I'm Andrew Morten, founder of Little America. I was born in New Zealand and have been a forerunner in unique travel to Australia and New Zealand for almost 30 years. After years of experience organising unique, small-scale trips with my company TravelEssence, I decided to create Little America in 2018. Why? Because Canada and the United States are such a fantastic countries to explore. Especially our way of travelling "off the beaten track."

"The real magic comes from slowing down, spending time in each place and embracing the local way of life."

Meet Luke

“shaped by first-hand experiences”

I’ve been fortunate enough to call both the United States and Canada home. My North American adventure began with a year living in California before later moving to Toronto, and I was then lucky enough to be sponsored to stay in Vancouver, where I spent the next four years.

Those years allowed me to travel extensively across North America. While I absolutely miss Canada, I don’t miss wondering whether a bear might cross my path on every hike!

“I love how quickly you can leave the crowds behind and find yourself."

Canada’s wilderness is what I fell in love with most. I love how quickly you can leave the crowds behind and find yourself surrounded by towering mountains, turquoise lakes and forests, where spotting bears (from a distance!), elk or whales can become part of the day’s adventure. The United States offers something completely different, and that’s what makes it so special.

If I had to choose one standout region, it would be Utah and Arizona. The dramatic red rock landscapes, vast deserts and iconic national parks are unlike anywhere else, and every drive feels like you’re travelling through another planet.

“You’ll leave already dreaming about your next visit.”

If I could offer just one piece of advice, it would be not to rush. It’s tempting to try and see everything, but the real magic comes from slowing down, spending time in each place and embracing the local way of life. There will always be somewhere else to discover, and that’s the beauty of North America, you’ll leave already dreaming about your next visit.

Robert

Hi, my name is Robert, and I am a Product Manager for Little America! I enjoy mountainous landscapes and have a passion for skiing. My love for travelling in the United States was sparked back in 2019 when I travelled through the Rockies and visited the Blackfeet Nation near Northern Montana's Glacier National Park.
