When is the best time to visit?

Canada and the United States are both beautifully diverse countries that are great for travel at any time of the year. Every season offers a new adventure, and each region has a unique personality of its own. Spring brings raging waterfalls as the landscape becomes green once more. Summer is an outdoor enthusiast's paradise. You'll never see brighter crimson leaves than in autumn, and there are ample winter activities for snow lovers.

The best time to travel is generally in the ‘shoulder seasons’, from April to June and September to November. Based on your specific interests, we can advise you on the best time to travel and the best regions to visit. And then we will plan your route with you from there.

Would you like to try surfing? Learn how to snowboard? Explore the cities? Encounter unique wildlife? Walk through fields of endless wildflowers? The options are endless, so you can start planning what you would like to do on your holiday. Take a look at what Canada and the United States can offer at different times of the year.

How long do I need to travel for?

Canada and the United States are some of the biggest countries in the world. You could spend months travelling the ever-changing landscapes and not see the same place twice. For your holiday, the question becomes, "How long do I have?". The more time you have means the more you'll be able to see.

To truly experience the essence of Canada and the United States in one combined trip, we recommend travelling at a relaxed pace for a minimum of six weeks. If you have slightly less time, we recommend focusing on just one country and coming back again one day.

What can I see and do?

With the diversity of Canada and the United States, you can see and do just about anything your heart desires - from kayaking through giant fjords to spotting whales and orcas. Imagine trekking through subarctic worlds of ice and then visiting the red rocks of the Southwest. Experience the Canadian Wild West in the most fitting way possible - on horseback with a cowboy cookout lunch. And later in the same trip, go waterfall hopping through Yosemite National Park, the crown jewel of California.

Your options are endless, with personally selected private or small-group local activities, ranging from easy-going to adventurous. Let us know your interests and discover what is best for you. We can schedule all your activities and take care of every detail, so you just have to show up and have fun.

Trust us, you don't want to spend your holiday in a stuffy hotel room with cheap furniture and mass-produced paisley carpets. We know the places you're envisioning because they are our vision too. A unique spot to experience the natural wonders of Canada and the United States. A place that feels welcoming; like home. Where you can truly unwind, and sink into the couch a little bit deeper. Staying in small-scale accommodations with local hosts and renowned hospitality is the greatest way to travel.

From a yellow cedar log house near Whistler to a hip tiny house in Portland, experience what these unique places have in store for you. Get a glimpse of the best accommodations, from comfortable to luxurious, in Canada and the United States.

How do I travel around?

From coastal roads to panoramic mountain passes, and awe-inspiring landscapes of desert and glaciers, Canada and the United States are best explored by car. The roads are safe and the views from your car are often magnificent.

Driving yourself means you're able to reach places that group trips and public transport cannot. You can go at your own pace and stop when necessary. With only a couple of hours between each location, you'll have more time to relax and explore, which is what you should be doing on your holiday.

Because Canada and the United States share a border, you can easily travel between the two countries in a rental car. Just keep your documents at hand. If there is any other transportation you may need, including ferries or seaplanes, we will take care of that for you too.
