With the diversity of Canada, you can see and do just about anything your family desires. Canada’s flora and fauna is awe-inspiring. Spot whales and orcas off Vancouver Island, kayak through giant fjords, or test the slopes at one of the famous ski resorts. Experience the Canadian Wild West on horseback with a cowboy cookout lunch. Hop on a seaplane and journey along the historic mail route between Gold River and Kyuquot. When is the best travel time?

We understand that with school-age children you’ll more likely be travelling to Canada during the UK summer months. Luckily, Canada is a beautifully diverse country that is great for travel year-round. Every season offers a new adventure, and each region has a unique personality of its own. Based on your interests and when you would like to go, your travel specialist can advise you on the best time to travel and the best regions to visit.

Canada is the perfect holiday destination at any time of the year

When considering a family holiday, we recommend booking about 9-12 months in advance. This ensures that you will secure the best accommodations for the best prices at the time you would like to visit. However, if you'd like to embark on your journey sooner we can still make it happen.

How long do we need in Canada?

Canada is the second largest country in the world. You could spend months travelling the ever-changing landscape and not see the same place twice. Whether you prefer snow-capped peaks, pristine lakes, vibrant cities or exciting wildlife, Canada is the perfect place to create those precious memories. For your holiday, the question becomes, "How long do we have?".

Travel at a relaxed pace

To truly experience the essence of Canada, we recommend travelling at a relaxed pace for a minimum of three weeks. If you have slightly less time, your travel specialist can help you choose the best regions that suit your wishes.

How do we travel around?

From coastal roads, to panoramic mountain passes, and awe-inspiring glacier landscapes, Canada is best explored by car. The roads are safe and the views are magnificent and ever-changing.

For families, we recommend a self-drive holiday in a large SUV with plenty of space for the kids. This allows you to explore off the beaten track places that group trips and campervans often cannot reach.

Take advantage of our special deals and travel comfortably, complete with:

  • A spacious SUV
  • A navigation system
  • Full insurance and low fuel costs
  • Hire cars that are less than six months old
  • Plenty of luggage space
  • Safe and secure roads
  • Pre-arranged baby car seat or booster chair
  • A route with only a couple of hours between each location

Drive less, see more

We highly recommend travelling slower as a family - stay in each place for two to five nights, driving less and exploring more, keeping everyone happy. No need to rush from highlight to highlight.

If you are thinking of renting a campervan, talk to us now and discover why driving in a rental car is the best way to see Canada.
