A great season for outdoor activities like hiking, biking, and exploring parks and gardens, this is a quieter time to visit with fewer tourists around making it attractive to those looking to explore without the large crowds.
Summer (June to August): The peak tourist season in New York State, especially in New York City as the weather is warm, and there's a buzz of activity. It's the ideal time for festivals, outdoor concerts, and enjoying the state's many beaches and lakes. Be prepared for larger crowds and higher accommodation prices in popular destinations.
Autumn (September to November): Arguably the best time to visit New York State for many travellers, the autumn foliage in upstate New York, especially in the Adirondacks and the Hudson Valley, is stunning.
