For beginners, the Hidden Valley Nature Trail is particularly suitable: a circular walk of just under two kilometres through a beautiful valley, lined with impressive rock formations such as the Great Burrito. When is the best time to visit?

Choosing the right time to visit Joshua Tree can significantly impact your experience. In summer, for example, temperatures are high most of the time, which can make active exploration difficult.

Spring and autumn

For pleasant weather and fewer crowds, consider planning your trip during the shoulder seasons, in spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). During these months, daytime temperatures are milder, ranging from 21 °C to 29 °C. It is therefore best to visit Joshua Tree National Park in autumn or spring, when the wildflowers are also in bloom. Birdwatchers will also delight in spotting golden eagles, ravens, and colourful migratory birds during the spring and autumn.
